EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Meet Andrea Roshaven, Economic Development Specialist III in the Community Redevelopment Agency. She has worked for the City of Tampa for a total of 15 years and in her role, she loves assisting commercial property and small business owners to make property improvements that enrich their neighborhoods. She said, "Being able to see both the immediate and long-term tangible impacts of helping people is what drew me to the economic development field and to join the Tampa CRA."

What do you like to do in your free time? Gardening is my relaxation in down time. I have a small yard that is forever being updated. When not working or relaxing at home, I am usually found at the park or hiking with my two small dogs Malcolm and Trey.

What is your favorite place in Tampa? It may seem strange, but the Florida School of Woodwork on North Franklin. I love working with my hands and it is a great place to take classes. I dream of starting a woodworking business when I retire.

What is your favorite meal to cook? Boliche is my favorite meal to make. It is a marinated eye of round pot roast stuffed with chorizo and slowly cooked with vegetables. It was always for special occasions when I was growing up and it brings back good memories every time I make it.

What is your dream vacation? A trip to the Galapagos Islands would be my pie-in-the-sky dream vacation. There is such an amazing array of diverse animals and plants, many not found anywhere else in the world, and such a unique volcanic landscape. I like the idea of seeing somewhere few people have been.

What are you reading right now? Right now, I am re-reading classic Clive Cussler Dirk Pitt novels. I am a sucker for escapist adventure novels with improbable complex plots and wisecracking dialogue. Clive Cussler is my favorite author when I want to just turn off my rational brain for a while.
