Mayor Jane Castor, City staff, and community partners have officially launched the “Call for Recipes” to be included in the Tampa Soulwalk Community Cookbook (https://www.tampa.gov/soulwalk) . Do you have a favorite family recipe? This project will curate recipes and other points of interest into one cohesive journey through the hearts and bellies of Tampa’s community of color. We welcome the public’s recipes, snippets of memories, profiles of people and businesses, and other notes about the preparation and consumption of food. Special thanks to the Epicurean Hotel and the chefs of BJ's Alabama BBQ, Hotel Alba Tampa, and 7th and Grove for helping us kick off the call for recipes by sharing a few of their favorite dishes.

Where’s your favorite shop in Tampa? I love thrift shopping. The Red, White and Blue, and the Salvation Army are my go to.

What are you binging on Netflix right now? The Chosen. I love it and I went to Israel this fall, so it is even better now that I have been there.

What is your favorite meal to cook and why? I am not much of a cook, but I enjoy having the family together, so I make grilled chicken and salads often, because that is what they like to eat.

What do you like to do in your free time? I don’t have much free time, but I spend as much time as I can with my grandbabies.
