MacDill Air Force Base invites the public to Tampa Bay AirFest (https://www.tampabayairfest.com/) 2024 this weekend (March 29 - 30). This free event features a variety of military and civilian flight performances and family-friendly activities. Attendees are highly encouraged to carpool or bike to the event due to limited parking and no public transportation methods.

Spring Day Holiday

In observance of Spring Day/Good Friday, City of Tampa offices will be closed on Friday, March 29. There will be no solid waste collection (https://www.tampa.gov/news/2024-03/tampa-trash-collection-schedule-revised-observance-spring-holiday-145686) on Friday. Commercial customers who receive service on Friday will receive service on Saturday.

Downtown Tampa’s largest egg hunt, Ashley’s Eggsploration (https://www.tampasdowntown.com/events/eggsploration/?occurrence=2024-03-30) , will be bringing fun-filled spring activities to Julian B. Lane Park on March 30 from 9am – 1pm. Adults and kids of all ages can enjoy several family-friendly games, delicious food from local food trucks, photos with the Easter bunny, and an egg scavenger hunt where participants will find a combination of eggs based on their age group, and redeem them for a prize.

The Development & Growth Management team is hiring three Professional Plans Reviewers (https://www.jobapscloud.com/Tampa/sup/bulpreview.asp?b=&R1=240205&R2=267001&R3=001) to perform technical reviews of considerable difficulty on professionally prepared documents for all proposed residential and commercial construction projects and for the review of residential and commercial site plans for compliance with transportation, landscape, stormwater, and zoning codes as required, as they relate to site construction issues.

Meet David Corredor, a Right of Way Permitting Engineer in the Mobility Department. He has worked for the City of Tampa for one year and enjoys his position because it feels rewarding to help with pedestrian detours while bringing a personal ADA perspective into consideration.

What is your favorite meal to cook and why? Lemon pepper Salmon and grilled asparagus. It’s easy to make, healthy, and tastes great!

What’s you favorite place in Tampa? Hyde Park! They have great restaurants and shops. It is a great place to meet up with friends.

What reality show would you want to be on? Believe it or not, Cash Cab. I used to watch it all the time growing up and I would want to see how far I could get before getting kicked out.

What’s your favorite holiday? Gasparilla, because it's a staple of Tampa. I’ve been going since I was 14 years old. I love being around my friends and celebrating what makes this city so great!
