============================================================ EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT Meet Eddy Cuevas, a Service Crew Leader I with the Wastewater Department. He has worked for the City of Tampa for two years, and he is known as the go-to guy for anything you need. You’ll find him working around the plant with his crew doing both big and small jobs – from prepping for major storm events to repairing broken equipment. He is always working and always has a smile on his face.
What do you like to do in your free time? Gym, walk, jog, chill, and watch medical and first responders shows/movies.
Where is your favorite place in Tampa? I enjoy being on the Riverwalk to people watch and going to the beach.
What is your dream vacation? Paris or London. My first option is Paris because it’s a romantic city and from what I’ve heard, a foodie paradise.
What are you binging on Netflix right now? I am currently binge-watching Suits on Netflix. It’s a wild and crazy show and the actors are great!
What is your favorite movie? I have several actors that I really like to watch - Priscilla Shirer, Jason Statham, Jet Li, Denzel Washington, Russell Crow, and my favorite is the one and only Bruce Lee. SPECIAL FEATURE In 2024, our Wastewater team has conducted inspections on over 214 miles of sewer gravity pipes and cleaned over 501 miles of sewer pipes. This maintenance work is critical to keep our city running, our systems flowing, and #TransformingTampa for our future generations.
Q. What is a sewer gravity pipe? A. The underground sewer pipes slope downward and away from homes, businesses, etc. The downward slope causes the wastewater to flow freely down the pipes due to gravity, eventually reaching our Howard F. Curren Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant. COMING UP THIS WEEK
