EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Zackary Besece
Meet Zackary Besece, an Engineer II in the Smart Mobility Division. He has worked for the City of Tampa for two years. In his role, he enjoys working on new development projects before construction begins and working with contractors to ensure that their work zones are safe for the public in the right of way.

What’s something unique about your position that others wouldn’t know? My daily emphasis is to create a Vision Zero city. That means zero traffic and pedestrian fatalities on city roadways. To achieve this, I enhance public safety in construction work zones when new buildings are being built and design new traffic signals at problematic intersections.

What do you like to do in your free time? In my free time, I enjoy playing golf, being a Bucs season ticket holder, and attending Florida State University sporting events. GO NOLES!

What’s your favorite restaurant in Tampa? My favorite restaurant in Tampa is Bella’s Italian Café. Nothing beats a homemade pasta dish followed by some tiramisu for dessert!

What’s your favorite musical band? My favorite musical band is Aerosmith. My uncle wrote the songs “Amazing” and “Pink”, to name just a few. I have grown up going backstage and being around classic rock bands.

What are you reading right now? I just recently read “Leaders Eat Last” by Simon Sinek. It is a fantastic book that explores the concept of leadership in real life examples, highly recommend.
