EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Katrina House

Meet Katrina House, a Certified Procurement Analyst in the Purchasing Department and the Job Order Contracting Administrator for the City of Tampa JOC program. She states, “As an analyst, I have a variety of commodities assigned to me like JOC, janitorial services, and other commodities to support various Departments. As the JOC Administrator, I oversee small to medium construction/construction related projects throughout the City. Within the JOC program, I work with Prime Contractors who provide opportunities to sub-contractors to work on City projects. This commodity has enabled me to build a greater love for those within the sub-contracting community who desire to contribute to the success and beauty of Tampa! I have taught on the local and state level regarding the City’s JOC program, and several entities have started their own JOC program by piggybacking off the City of Tampa.”

What’s your favorite restaurant in Tampa? A hidden treasure in Tampa is the Fish Market on Main Street. One of my co-workers introduced me to their restaurant. The serve fried crabs that are so well seasoned, you will have to make yourself stop eating them!

What’s your favorite movie? I’m a little torn on my favorite movie. I do have a few that I will watch any day: Love and Basketball, Solomon, and Disney’s Hamilton.

What are five quick things you're grateful for? I am thankful for my faith in Jesus, my life, my husband Al, my children and for those that love and truly care about me. There are times when you want to achieve things in life, and some may not understand your drive or passion to pursue a dream or a goal. I feel that if you have people around you who do not have your best interests, to love them from a distance - and cherish those who want to see you succeed.

What is your dream vacation? I would love to visit Williamstown, Kentucky. They have a representation of Noah’s Ark that I would love to see.
