EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT

Meet Ivette Rosario, a Certified Senior Procurement Analyst in the Purchasing Department. She has worked at the City of Tampa for 34 years and enjoys that her position involves working with all City departments, helping them accomplish a variety of projects. Seeing the final outcome of a project come together is very rewarding.

What do you like to do in your free time? Spending time with my family celebrating birthdays. Going on cruises. Going to Disney. I love to bake. And watching all our cop/law/fire shows on TV.

What’s your favorite restaurant in Tampa? Miguel’s Mexican restaurant on Kennedy - it’s definitely a must-try. Great food & sangria. And cake from Wrights Gourmet House.

What’s your favorite holiday? Christmas. I love decorating and some may say I go a little overboard. But there’s never enough. My kitchen is all gingerbread themed, my dining area is snowmen, my foyer is nutcrackers, and the living room and tree are all Disney. I also enjoy going to the midnight mass on Christmas Eve.

What is your dream vacation? My daughter is a mega Disney fan (mom’s fault), and her dream is to see all the Disney properties in Europe/Hawaii. Helping her accomplish this is my dream.

What's one of the craziest days you’ve had on the job? 9-11 comes to mind immediately. I work in TMOB (Tampa Municipal Office Building) and immediately after the 9-11 incident, our building was covered with TPD members in full combat with big machine guns. It was very impressive and very scary.
