EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT
Meet Lateca Simmons, a Work Order Technician in the Solid Waste Department. She has worked for the City of Tampa for 13 years and loves providing customer service for Tampa residents. She enjoys meeting new people and using her skills to help them.
What do you like to do in your free time? Traveling, cooking & baking from scratch!
What is your favorite meal to cook? I’m a southern cook, there are too many to name!! But I absolutely love to make oxtail. While they are ridiculously expensive, they have always been a delicacy. If prepared correctly, they are pure heaven on a plate! You really have to take your time and pour pure love into this dish, it cannot be rushed. My family loves it! My favorite cake to bake right now is the Cookies n Cream Poundcake. It’s a tad bit complex to perfect maintaining the moistness and flavor, but well worth it!
What are you binging on Netflix right now? The Brother’s Sun.
What is your dream vacation? An overwater bungalow in the Maldives or Bora Bora.
What is your favorite place in Tampa? Home, being the best Mommy in the world to my 7 year old son, Quincy!!! 😊
SPECIAL FEATURE
In the last five years, Tampa has rehabilitated 33 wastewater pump stations -- $93 million in crucial infrastructure improvements. In the next five years, 27 more pump station rehabilitation projects are planned.
